フィンランド共和国のJukka Siukosaari大使閣下が表敬訪問にいらっしゃいました。

Summary:

H.E. Mr. Jukka Siukosaari, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland called on FSM Ambassador to discuss bilateral issues. Finland Ambassador is cross accredited to the FSM with residence in Tokyo.

２０１７年１月１７日、東京・外務省飯倉公館において「太平洋・島サミット第３回中間閣僚会合（MIM３）」が開催されました。これには太平洋島嶼国１６ヶ国から外務大臣等の首脳及び閣僚級の関係者が参加しました。太平洋諸島フォーラム（PIF）の議長国であるミクロネシア連邦のローレン・S・ロバート外務大臣が岸田外務大臣とともに共同議長を務めました。

第８回「太平洋・島サミット」は明２０１８年に福島県いわき市で開催されることが決定しました。

Summary

The 3rd Ministerial Interim Meeting (MIM3) of the Japan-Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM) was held on January 17, 2017 at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Iikura House. Foreign Ministers and high ranking officials from the 16 Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) participated. The current chair of the PIF Honorable Lorin Robert, FSM Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Honorable Fumio Kishida, Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs  were co-chairing the meeting. The PALM 8th will be held again in Iwaki City of Fukushima Prefecture in May of 2018.

１２月６日～８日、ロジャー・モリ公使が高知県を訪問しました。高知市立三里小学校への訪問、祖先・森小弁のお墓参り、室戸視察を行い、地域の方々と交流を深めました。

世界中の子供たちに津波の脅威と対策について知ってもらおうと、ミクロネシア連邦を含む３０ヶ国の高校生が日本に招かれ、『世界津波の日 高校生サミット in 黒潮』が高知県で開催されました。東京で行われた「若き津波防災大使　歓送報告会」にはモリ公使が出席しました。
