駐日ミクロネシア連邦大使：ジョン・フリッツの日々前進！

『ミクロネシア諸島自然体験交流事業２０１４』のフェアウェル・レセプションが行われました。約一週間の滞在中、国会議事堂やスカイツリー、動物園や博物館などの見学、宮城県と静岡県でのホームステイなど、さまざまなことを体験して帰国の途に着きました。きっと生涯、忘れることのない思い出が沢山できたことでしょう。これをきっかけに一人でも多くの人材が世界に目を向け、成長することを願っています。貴重な機会を与えてくださいました、独立行政法人 国立青少年教育振興機構の皆様に感謝申し上げます。

Summary

The 2014 (13th) program ended with a farewell reception. Children from the three countries in the Micronesian region went through  one-week long program of activities which included visits to the Japan National Diet Building, Tokyo Skytree, Uneno Zoo and Museum, and home stay in Miyagi Prefecture and Shizuoka Prefecture. These are all new ventures to all of them and I am sure they  are returning home with wonderful memories. Hope that their experiences in Japan will help them in their  future endeavors. Extend sincere appreciation to the Independent Administrative Institution-National Institution for Youth Education and those people involved in  making this year’s program a great success.

『ミクロネシア諸島自然体験交流２０１４』で来日中の子どもたちが、渋谷区立松涛中学校を訪問しました。一緒に授業を受け、給食を食べたり、体育館で行われた交流会では盆踊りに飛び入り参加したり、ミクロネシア各州の伝統ダンスを披露しました。

Summary

One of the program was the cross-cultural interaction with students of Shoto Junior High School in Shibuya Ward. It was a one-day event in which the Micronesian children and  Shoto Junior High School students had lunch together and show-cased  their respective cultural dances.

国立青少年教育振興機構主催の『ミクロネシア諸島自然体験交流２０１４』で、今年もミクロネシア諸島（ミクロネシア連邦、パラオ共和国、マーシャル諸島共和国）から子どもたちが来日しました。大使館訪問では、大使館の仕事内容や役割を学び、各州ごとに記念写真を撮りました。この交流プログラムは、異文化体験を通して、次世代の人材育成を目的としており、今年で１３回目を迎えます。さっそく日本語を覚えてコミュニケーションを図ろうとする意欲的なメンバーもいました。将来がとても楽しみです。

Summary

Under  the National Institution for Youth Education (NIYE) 2014  Exchange Program, children from the four States of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau and the Republic of the Marshall Islands arrived in Japan for a one week period. This year marks the 13th program  since its inception in 2002. As part of their programs, the FSM students visited the Embassy  to learn about the work and meet with staff. Photos were taken with each State’s representatives. The program aim is to promote cross-cultural communication/interaction  between the young generations. Very much impressed  to witness some of the children already started to communicate in Japanese. All the best.

去る６月１３日、アジアパシフィック婦人友好会の寄付の配分式が行われました。この寄付金はバザーの収益金を参加国で配分し、それぞれの国の女性と子供達の支援に送られます。今年はバングラデッシュ大使夫人が外国側の会長で、フィージー大使夫人が副会長をされましたが、来年度は当館のフリッツ夫人が会長に、中国の大使夫人が副会長のお役を承り、その場で発表されました。今年の寄付金は、ミクロネシア連邦の女性達の母子手帳発行のために使われます。今年もバザーにご協力いただきました皆様に心から感謝申し上げます。来年も引き続き、宜しくお願い申し上げます。

Summary

The check sharing event of the Asian Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS) was held on June 23, 2013. This event is held to distribute the procedes from the ALFS’s charitable activities for the member countries in support of women and children programs.

埼玉県上尾市立原市中学校の皆様が大使館を訪問されました。たくさんの質問が寄せられ、ミクロネシア連邦に興味を持ってくださっていることがよくわかり、嬉しく思いました。この訪問の内容を、新聞を作って発表するそうです。頑張ってください！

Summary

Many thanks to the six (6) students from Haraichi Junior High School in Ageo City in Saitama Prefecture, who  visited  the FSM Embassy in Tokyo to learn abou the FSM. So many questions raised showing the keen interest in FSM. Hope the  visit will be helpful in your report and wish all the best.
