Representatives of Saitama Seibu Lions Professional Baseball Club visited the Embassy. Baseball (Yakyu) is one of the popular sport in Micronesia and look forward to work with the club to further promote the sport.
今年、ミクロネシア連邦に３台の中古ピアノを寄贈してくださった、富山県の竹田楽器 代表の竹田時康様と協和海運株式会社の高松社長がご来館されました。このように民間を通してミクロネシア連邦にピアノが渡るという、音楽の交流プロジェクトは初めてのことです。真心に心から感謝申し上げます。
Summary
Owner and president of Takeda Musical Instrument Company in Toyama Prefecture, Mr. Takeda, and President of Kyowa Shipping Company, Mr. Takamatsu visited the Embassy. Through Mr. Takeda with the cooperation of Kyowa Shipping Company, three pianos were donated to schools in the FSM. This is an important crass-root project to promote friendship through music. Thank you very very much for your kind donations.
約一週間の滞在を終え、無事に全員帰国しました。短い期間ではありますが、中身の濃い充実したプログラムを経験し、彼らにとって一生忘れることのできない夏休みになったと思います。初めて高い所に上って東京タワーから夜景を眺めたり、公立中学校での交流、長野県ではホームステイで日常生活を体験、北八ヶ岳および富士山登山（途中まで）では初めて白い自分の息を見たなど・・・。
自分が住んでいる島を出るのも初めてというメンバーがほとんどでしたが、若い時にこうした体験をすることによって、将来の夢が大きく広がったに違いありません。貴重な機会を与えて下さいました、国立青少年教育振興機構の皆様に心より御礼申し上げます。
Summary
Although it was a short one-week of stay in Japan, I am sure that all of the students returned home with fond memories and experiences that they will always cherish. All the activities they were involved in including viewing Tokyo City from Tokyo Tower, friendly exchange with schools’ students, home stay with families, climbing Mt. Fuji from Shizuoka Prefecture side and Northern Mt. Yatsugatake in Nagano Prefecture are certainly open-eyes for all of them.
It was the first time for most of the students to travel overseas and I am sure that their experiences will help motivate them in their future endeavors. Extend appreciation to the National Institution for Youth Education for the excellent program.

デルタ航空日本支社での会議に出席するため、本国より運輸委員会 委員長のピーター・クリスチャン議員、運輸省のマスター・ハルバート氏、資源開発省のバーマンス・アルディス氏が来日しました。午前中はデルタ航空との協議、午後は大使館にてその報告と今後について協議しました。 Summary The FSM Task Force on Transportation comprised of Senator Peter Christian, Chairman of the Committee on Transportation, Communication and Infrastructure, Master Halbert form the Department (Ministry) of Transportation, Communication and Infrastructure and Bermance Aldis from the Department of Resources and Development, held a meeting with representatives of Delta Air Lines Inc. Tokyo Office. They visited the Embassy in the afternoon before departing Japan.
